Help: Objective
The idea of the game is to make as much money as possible during a game level. Each game level lasts for a number of days. You must run your cathouse to make as much cash from your punters as possible while keeping the law at bay and keeping your customers and hoes happy. How you run your cathouse and treat your hoes is up to you. At the end of each level your score will be calculated based on the cash you have earned minus any debts you may have. If you score a decent score you will be able to progress to the next level

Help: Getting started
The first thing to do is buy a property. Some levels offer you a choice of properties each with a different price tag and different numbers of rooms thus determining the maximum number of hoes you can have working there at any time. For instance, if you have a cathouse with 4 rooms then you can have up to 4 hoes earning money for you. You could still employ more than 4 hoes if you wish but you would only be allowed to have up to 4 hoes on duty at any one time and the others would be left to chill
To finance your cathouse you need to borrow cash. Different loans may be available so it's up to you to decide how much to borrow and spend on a property and how much to keep for buying alcohol, paying hoes, advertising and setting up your cathouse with a few upgrades. Loans must be paid back on a daily basis and if you can't afford the payment you will be penalised and your score will suffer dramatically
Each game day starts with a newsflash which you should pay close attention to. The newsflash will contain important information which can effect your gameplay for that day

Help: The interface
The game screen is divided into 3 pages:
- View page - used to check for tips during the daytime and used to watch the evening unfold
- Cathouse page - used to make changes to your business and buy things for your cathouse
- Hoes page - used to hire and fire hoes, drug them and alter bonus payments
Playing simCathouse consists mainly of recruiting hoes, managing your business and keeping an eye on what goes on during your trading hours. If you're new to the game then keep a close eye on the tips that are shown on the View page during the daytime. Once you feel you're ready to open for business for the evening click the Play button and the customers will (hopefully) start to arrive and bring in the cash

Strategy: General
simCathouse uses an advanced game engine to model
the business of running a brothel. The engine is flexible enough
to allow different styles of management so feel free to experiment
and see what works for you and your hoes. Treat your hoes too badly
and they won't work for you. Treat them too well and you won't
earn as much cash. If you don't keep your customers in line they
will smash up your cathouse and you may be raided by cops. If the
cops raid then your hoes will be taken away. Customers like alcohol
so keep the beer flowing and you will turn a healthy profit but
drunken customers may beat up your hoes if they don't get laid.
The cops can be kept at bay with bribes so watch your chances of
being busted. Advertising can help boost your visitor levels but
be sure you don't entice too many visitors as they will get angry
and smash up your cathouse and your hoes if they don't get laid.
A cathouse survives on its reputation. The reputation is built
from all aspects of your business and is a single useful measure
that you can use to check how you're doing

Strategy: Hoes
Hoes cost money and can also make you money.
Each hoe has different skill levels and skills. The best hoes will
do anything to earn a buck! Each hoe has the following stats:
- name - keep an eye on who's earning you cash
- health - if her health gets too low she will quit
- morale - her mental state is important and helps to gain business. Not many customers want a moody hoe!
- skill - a skilled hoe earns more money. Skills are increased by regular custom
- skills - a hoe earns money for each service she offers
- salary - each hoe must be paid each day
- bonus - a bonus payment can help boost morale
The overall condition of your hoes will contribute towards the reputation of your cathouse and your profitability. You must look after your hoes as they are your primary means of earning cash. You can do the following with a hoe:
- hire - this is how you offer a ho a job. If your cathouse has a decent enough reputation then she will accept the job offer. She won't accept the job if her skill level is too high compared to the reputation of your cathouse
- fire/dismiss - if you don't need a hoe any more you can fire her. If a hoe is in a bad way then this will reflect badly on your cathouse and you're probably well rid of her. Once dismissed you will need to wait a day or two before she will be available for work again
- on duty - hoes can be set on or off duty. You cathouse can only have as many hoes on duty as there are rooms. Off duty hoes can improve their health but can become bored if left off duty for too long
- medicate - use drugs to boost a hoe's health and morale. If you medicate your hoes regularly enough then you can reduce bonus payments and they won't mind
- change bonus - changing a hoe's bonus can affect her morale and your profitability

Strategy: Cops
It's very important to keep the cops sweet with bribes. If they raid then they will take away one of more hoes and leave you understaffed and your reputation diminished
back to top
Strategy: Alcohol
Alcohol is an essential part of your business. Your customers will expect a drink and will become violent if you can't provide one. They may also become violent if they drink too much and don't get laid. Selling alcohol is also a major source of income and you can easily sell more than 100 bottles a night

Strategy: Repairs
Your cathouse will suffer damage if your customers get rowdy. You will need to patch it back up again or your reputation will suffer. A tatty cathouse will not attract the best hoes or the best customers and you will soon end up in a rut
back to top
Strategy: Upgrades
If you have surplus cash then you will be able to buy a number of upgrades that can be used to improve the reputation and profitability of your cathouse. Different upgrades offer different benefits so spend wisely
back to top
Strategy: Advertising
Investing in advertising is a sure way of increasing your visitor count. However, advertising can also work against you if you attract too many visitors (especially if you don't have a doorman to keep out undesirables)

Strategy: Pricing
One of your key responsibilities as a cathouse owner is to set your prices. You can examine the current market rates (prices at other cathouses) and set your own prices to compete according to how desirable you think your cathouse is. If you think your cathouse is doing really well and your hoes are the best then you can get away with higher pricing. If you're starting out and are building your reputation then you may decide to cut your prices to build customer satisfaction

Strategy: Customers
Customers take a lot of notice of your cathouse reputation. Later into the evening you will attract more rowdy customers. This increases the chance of being busted and damage to your property and hoes if any of the customers do not get laid. In this case, you may consider closing early if things get out of hand. A doorman is useful to help keep things in order

Strategy: News
Keep a close eye on the news displayed each day. The news tells about hoes becoming available for work as well as other happenings in the city
